Net Poker Local Mode Instructions

Local Mode allows you to store the cards locally on you PC's harddrive.

Requirements:

  1. Windows based personal computer with harddrive
  2. WinZip, PKZip or some other utility that can unzip a file.
  3. Knowledge about downloading files and creating directories, etc.

  4. If you don't know how to download or unzip files, then forget about Local Mode.
Local Mode is a neat option, but not a requirement.
Instructions:
  1. The file you are about to download is a ZIP (compressed) file containing 52 cards in the GIF image format.
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY to get a virus from an image file or a ZIP file containing such images.
Only an executable file (or Word/Excel macro) can carry a virus.
This zip is not a self-extracting ZIP that executes, so it is safe.
  2. Create the directory  c:\netpoker on your harddrive
  3. Download the file http://www.netpoker.org/cards.zip to this directory
  4. You should now have the file c:\netpoker\cards.zip
  5. Unzip this file into the c:\netpoker to get all 52 cards.
  6. Choose Local Mode when you play and your browser will

  7. read the cards from your computer, rather than the website.
